As co-presidents of the 2010 ISBRA World Congress, Prof. Toshikazu Saito, MD, PhD, President of ISBRA, and Prof. Michel Reynaud, MD, Member of the SFA Board, invite you to the CAP 15 Conference Centre, in Paris, France, from September 13 to 16, 2010.

The ISBRA Congress will be followed on September 17, 2010 by the ESBRA Nordmann Award Meeting in Heidelberg, Germany.

The World Congress in 2010 welcomes ISBRA members, as well as scientific and clinical colleagues from around the world. The program will have relevance to laboratory scientists, clinicians who treat alcohol-related disorders, clinical researchers and policy makers.
The International Program Committee is sculpting a congress with world-renowned plenary speakers each morning, and up to 72 symposia and workshops sessions.
Specific symposia topics are shown in the preliminary program timetable. The topics represented, and the balance of the overall conference program, will be determined by the proposals submitted for consideration. However, it is anticipated that the question of prevention and care policies in France compared to other countries, and also alcohol and violence, sponsored by the Société Française d'Alcoologie, will be discussed on Monday the 13^th and Tuesday the 14^th.
There will be provision for up to 400 poster presentations in the range of topics outlined in the 'Call for Symposia and Abstracts'.
The International Program Committee invites members of ISBRA and other colleagues to submit oral and poster abstracts for ISBRA 2010. To submit your abstract, please go to 'Scientific Program / Call for Symposia and Abstracts' and follow the instructions. Travel award application forms are available in the 'Sponsors'.
The keynote speakers' names and the topics of their lectures are available under the heading 'Scientific Program / Keynote Lectures'.
Registration and room reservation services at special congress rates will be available starting April 2010.

Le Congrès Mondial de 2010 s'adresse à toute personne impliquée en alcoologie de par le monde : chercheurs, cliniciens, responsables politiques, etc.
Le programme élaboré par le Comité scientifique international comprend chaque matin des plénières avec des conférenciers de renommée mondiale, suivies de 72 sessions de symposia et ateliers réparties sur quatre jours.
Les noms des conférenciers des plénières et le thème de leur communication sont présentés dans la rubrique 'Programme Scientifique / Conférences Plénières'.
Des thèmes spécifiques de symposia sont présentés dans un aperçu du programme scientifique ; leur répartition sera affinée en fonction des propositions reçues. A noter toutefois que des symposia seront organisés par la Société Française d'Alcoologie, les lundi 13 et mardi 14, sur prévention et dispositifs de soins, alcool en milieu du travail, alcool et violence. Seront également proposés par l'Albatros : alcool et cannabis, alcool et cocaïne.

ISBRA was founded in 1980 in response to the need for an international scientific organization concerned with research on the biomedical aspects of alcoholism. Alcohol dependence and alcohol-related disorders are global problems. The mission of ISBRA includes education, training, consultation (to governments and the World Health Organization) and the promotion of international collaborations. An important function of ISBRA is the organization of biennal International Congresses focusing on Alcoholism Research.
