Travel Support
National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) Conference Grant - CLOSED
(Dr. Edward Riley, Principal Investigator)
These funds will primarily be used to provide partial travel support for the following individuals: symposia presenters, junior scientists, and underrepresented investigators from the USA; symposia presenters from countries with new and developing alcohol research programs in Asia and Latin America; and, junior investigator speakers from underrepresented European countries particularly from Eastern Europe. Please see below 'Awards Application Forms' for the NIAA Travel Award Application.
The deadline for NIAAA travel award applications is March 15, 2010. Please note: If awarded travel funds, in all cases U.S. flag carriers must be used for all airline flights. A code share flight is allowable, but the payment and reservation must be completed through the U.S. carrier. As the NIAAA conference award is a federally funded grant, the Fly America Act must be followed (www.tvlon.com/resources/FlyAct.html). Airline tickets that do not meet this guideline can not be reimbursed. The criteria for the NIAAA Travel Awards are noted below.
Speakers from the U.S.:
1 - Mid-level and Senior Symposia Speakers from the U.S.,
2 - Junior Scientists (<8 years postdoctoral degree) from the U.S. who will present at the Congress, either in a symposium, workshop, or poster presentation, and
3 - Underrepresented Investigators from the U.S. presenting at the meeting.
Speakers from outside the U.S.:
1 - Symposia Speakers from developing Asia countries,
2 - Symposia Speakers from Latin American countries, and
3 - Underrepresented persons from European countries, particularly from Eastern Europe, who will present at the Congress either in a symposium, workshop, or poster presentation.

Japanese Medical Society of Alcohol and Drug Studies
and Japanese Society of Psychiatric Research on Alcoholism
The Japanese Medical Society of Alcohol and Drug Studies and the Japanese Society of Psychiatric Research on Alcoholism will support the registration fee for attendees of the 2010 ISBRA Congress in Paris. Recipients of this support will be young Japanese researchers (less than 50 years old) who are principal presenters of posters, or speakers in a symposium, workshop, roundtable discussion, or invited lecturers. These supports may also be awarded to researchers outside Japan, who are speakers in a symposium, workshop, or roundtable discussion whose organizers are Japanese researchers. In this case, there is no age limitation for such support. Support will not be provided to those whose travel costs are covered by other sources. Please see below 'Awards Application Forms' for the Application.
